prelims - phase 2

phase two came and left in a breeze. time passed really fast probably because there were more breaks for breathers == more slack time! my 'last-minute' study plan had been to study for the upcoming papers during these breaks, but in the end they were merely days where i just lazed around trying not to overheat during the prelims. there's no break for me anyway given the actual A-level timetable.

Humble yourselves therefore, under God's mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast your anxieties on Him because He cares for you. - 1 Peter 5:6-7

encouragement for physics paper 3! my last A -level prelim paper and also the one i dread the most. i really don't have a knack for theoretical physics. since we had to choose 4 of 6 possible questions, i decided to start on the option topic, physics of fluids, which we have no choice but to do it. ironic.
once the preliminary exams concluded, we had a session with our chem tutor where we were given 3 chem practise worksheets. *speechless*. that was how i felt then. jaded after all the disrupted sleeps for the past month. well, i'll just take the next few days to tidy up my stuff and complete my personal statement for UK university applications. must strive to get a place in a good uni, then half the battle is won. the other would be to secure the financial means to go overseas. will be sorting out academic matters during the post-prelim period - hopefully results will be good enough to grant me my desired grades for my university applications to uk and down under.

this tide of study and revision is really drifting me further away from friends. i'm beginning to prefer a reclusive environment, doing anything i want, anytime i want. maybe it's my way of de-stressing - appreciate nature, enjoy my endless list of music and perhaps make some new tunes or chord progressions on a borrowed guitar.

EDIT: 26/09/05 - Maths 'S' prelim: we were given the 2004 paper as practise. quite tough although it was more do-able than the NJ prelim paper. sigh... i still couldn't capitalise on my favorite chapter - statistics! still got some brushing up to do.... i want to be a stats guru!!!

the sms that woke me up today:-
11With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. 12We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. - 2Thessalonians 1:11-12
